I have contributed a piece to a show benefiting the Lupus Foundation of America. Head to Bridgeport and support a good cause!
We had so much fun plein air painting at Navy Pier this week. It was a great start to the new season of painting outdoors. If you’re in Chicago and interested in participating, see the schedule for the Plein Air Painters Chicago and come say hi!
This is the last week to catch my small solo show of acrylic paintings. The pieces in this show are a series based on the favorite animals of people close to me. These images use quietly surreal animals and monsters to diagram our ambiguous feelings and the personal symbols that we develop as we try to understand life.
Thank you so much to Little Broken Things for having me on their gallery wall!
It was such a pleasure to give a talk at the Cruz Acero school here in Chicago. These high school students make beautiful work and had very interesting questions. We discussed my less common form of art education and what it’s like to forge your own creative path. I hope to hear them tell their own stories someday!
Thank you to the school and art instructor Rachel Lechocki for having me as a guest.
